Burghotel Schlaining

Nestled in an idyllic landscape made up of lush, rolling hills, lies a true gem: the conference centre Burghotel Schlaining. Dating back to the 12^th century, the walls of the castle are steeped in history. Today, the ruins of the old castle bastion house an elegant conference centre: 17 unique event spaces and outdoor areas offer a magnificent setting for memorable events with eight to 400 guests. Directly opposite the conference centre lies the former armoury, which presently accommodates the 3-star superior hotel Burghotel Schlaining, offering comfortable and convenient overnight accommodation for conference attendees. Culinary delights and regional delicacies await the guests in the Burghotel’s restaurant and the bistro Das Kranich.

Whether it be closed, small-scale business meetings in utmost privacy, seminars and lectures for up to 85 people, elegant gala dinners in the Knights’ Hall Rittersaal, or company parties with live music in the castle’s courtyard — the possibilities for hosting events in the conference centre Schlaining are sheer endless. The venue offers a choice of a total of 17 indoor and outdoor event areas, each offering a unique backdrop for unforgettable events:

Six bright seminar rooms featuring modern audio-visual equipment constitute the ideal event space for seminars, conferences, training events, and presentations. Room sizes ranging from 32 sqm to 66 sqm provide sufficient space for ten to 45 participants per room. Events with up to 85 people can be accommodated by combining several seminar rooms, realising an event area with a floor space of 139 sqm.

Small-scale meetings and gatherings can be held in the two boardrooms Celina and Luisa with room sizes of 18 sqm and space for up to ten people. Larger closed meetings can be accommodated in the cosy Burgstüberl which offers 56 sqm floor space.

The perfect backdrop for exclusive events such as press conferences, congresses, gala dinners, and company celebrations can be found in the magnificent historic rooms of the Friedensburg castle. At the heart of the castle lies the imposing Granarium with a floor space of 238 sqm and a 143 sqm balcony, which can accommodate up to 400 people. The grand Knights‘ Hall Rittersaal measuring 234 sqm impresses with its mighty barrel vault, beneath which up to 90 people can be seated. By adding on the foyer (61 sqm) and the extensive courtyard Schwarzer Hof (224 sqm), much larger events can be realised. Another excellent event setting is the castle’s revitalised wine cellar, which offers a rustic, elegant atmosphere. Its impressive room size of 470 sqm can be partitioned into smaller event spaces. With its own, separate cloakroom and toilets, it is the ideal space for closed events with up to 240 guests.

The castle grounds further offer plenty of space for open-air events: Events with up to 350 people can be hosted in the courtyard Burghof, which is 1,175 sqm in size, lined with majestic chestnut trees, and features a covered stage for live music. Smaller functions can be accommodated in the Clusius Café, which offers 48 sqm of floor area, a garden measuring 165 sqm and three exclusive terraces.  

Located directly opposite the conference centre, the Burghotel Schlaining makes it possible to organise convenient overnight stays for guests right at the event venue. At the three-star superior hotel, 64 comfortable single-/ double rooms and suites are available, offering a choice of eight different room types.
