Römersteinbruch St. Margarethen

Römersteinbruch 1, Sankt Margarethen im Burgenland

About this venue

Embedded in the rolling hills of the Ruster Hügelland region lies Europe’s largest natural open-air arena: the impressive St. Margarethen Quarry. Modern event infrastructure has been blended seamlessly with the quarry’s natural architecture to create a setting of breathtaking beauty and superb acoustics — ideal conditions for memorable events. While the event location has primarily made a name for itself as a hotspot for international opera performances and music stars, the St. Margarethen Quarry is highly versatile and offers a suitable setting for corporate events, product presentations, or automotive events. The extensive event zone comprises a total of five separately accessible event spaces, which can accommodate a range of events with 20 to 4,800 attendees. The centrepiece of the quarry is the Main Stage with its associated stands, offering seating for 4,800 people. Events with up to 2,200 spectators are hosted at the Ruffini stage. Aside from the two open-air stages, the St. Margarethen Quarry offers three additional venues: the foyer park, the open-air opera lounge, and the two-storey art house.
